Our last night

Image
I bet you never thought I'd get to this point, did you? Well, before you get too excited about this NYC overload finally coming to an end, I just want to prepare you that our last night there leads into another 10 hour day of adventures :) So it's not quite over just yet. But it will be soon. I promise. We spent our final night in New York in the Upper West Side. This is definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city. We had a lovely dinner at Ocean Grill, and then simply enjoyed the nighttime sky (at a perfect 70 degrees) by walking 25 blocks back to our hotel. It stands out as one of my favorite adventures of our entire trip.   We listened to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" on my phone as we walked alongside Central Park   We kept thinking we were going to take a taxi, or hop on the subway… but the walk was too perfect  We passed by the fountains at Columbus Circle We passed by the Ed Sullivan Theater where the legendary Late Show is filmed   Sea...

Randoms, Part Trois

Image
I'm not sure if it's the hat, the look of adoration, or the big city posing behind them, I just love this picture of Sam and Charlie! I had to work pretty hard for these pictures. Getting 3 boys to cooperate is not always the easiest thing to do! A random bird hanging out with us in Central Park Another view of the Highline And the rest are of my boys enjoying ice cream cones… I've become a big fan of photographing ice cream eaters. People always seems so focused when they are working on an ice cream cone. And it is one of the great summertime activities we can all enjoy!

My Silly Charlie

Image
So, here's part deux of my three part series showing some random pictures taken in NYC. This one is all about Charlie!   Love that smile… so genuinely happy   He was so darn excited to be sliding down this pole   Big smiles with mommy!  I love his eyes here (as well as the cracker crumbs all over his face!)  I actually like that this one is blurry… this is the sweetest face in the world  He was actually posing here for me. His hand was on his hip. He was workin' it so he could play Angry Birds on my phone.  So deep in thought  Some more mommy love Adoring his daddy   You may have picked up on the fact that Charlie has a tendency to fall asleep anywhere he can. He gets a bit heavy after while :) but it sure is sweet having a baby to hold once in a while.   I believe he was getting in trouble in this one… But I love both of them in their hats! Yay! He made up for it! It's a good thing he's so darn cute. It definitely works...

My Handsome Sam

Image
At this point, I'm sure I have overextended my welcome of New York City posts… but I took hundreds of pictures, and I want to make good use of them. So, the fun is not over yet! Here begins a 3-part series which includes some random pictures that haven't fit in with the topics of my other posts… I'll begin with a few of Sam!   I just love this sweet look on his face… (and the bubbly background makes my Nikon smile!)   Sam is such a thinker , it always makes me happy to see him let loose and just be silly!    This looks like a picture I have of Sam when he was just a baby… I love it.   Makes me happy to see him cuddle up with me and smile...   Sweet moment...   Love his baby blues… and this is my favorite look he gives.   He was really tired here, but being the pleaser he is, he was trying to give me a good picture. He's precious. I adore how Sam is so patient, and watches over Charlie's shoulder   They both look adorable in this one ...

Candy Land

Image
Times Square has a few of the greatest candy stores in the country. I've walked by all of them many many times, but have never felt the urge to venture in. Well, we decided to do it this time. We went to the Hershey's store and the M&M's store. Both were elaborate, extensive, impressive, and overwhelming!  We might have enjoyed them more if (i) there had been about six thousand fewer patrons, and/or (ii) our kids hadn't acted like whiney, bratty bums while we were there (just keepin' it real!) In hindsight, it was a really bad idea to go in. If you'll notice, they have on the same superman shirts they wore the day we travelled to NYC… which means this was the day we travelled to NYC. They had been up forever, around the world and back, in and out of different playgrounds.  It was a looooooooong day. But we tried to make the best of a tricky situation. The boys were recruited to spin the giant chocolate machine which wraps the Hershey's Kisses an...
