Our Beautiful Ending

Image
The final three nights of our trip were spent at Geraldine and Joe's house in Lagunitas - outside of Fairfax, just north of San Francisco.   My heart skipped a beat when we pulled up to this home. It was on the side of a mountain, where Geraldine had planted rows and rows of flowers on the entire hillside. I was in heaven.   There was a putting green, where the boys had the time of their life, while I floated around like a little pixie smelling flower after flower in disbelief. It was magical ~   We were given fresh cut flowers in every room where we stayed.   This is our final morning in California - packing up to head to the airport.   Even George was sad to leave...   We finished up our trip on a fun ride in the front of the train at the airport.... It's difficult to sum up the memorable week that we experienced. It felt like three vacations as we travelled aroun...

Dodgers / Giants

We spent our final day of our trip in San Francisco. We travelled there on the Larkspur Ferry, where we had a lovely view of the Golden Gate Bridge.   We also were able to see Al Catraz...   We had done so much vacationing at this point in our trip that we pretty much just wandered aimlessly around the city of San Francisco.   We didn't want to get caught up in anything that would end up making us late for our date with AT&T Park where we would be watching the Dodgers and Giants play.   What an amazing place!   Richie was to the moon over the fact that Clayton Kershaw was pitching that night. It was a great game! The Dodgers came out with a win 3-2.   I do believe this is the greatest park in the country to watch a baseball game. It would be hard to beat this view.

Sonoma

We had just one day to explore wine country, so we decided to spend it in Sonoma. We visited two vineyards, Chateau St. Jean and Belinger. Both were breathtaking.    One of the great joys of being a kid... even when someone dresses you up and takes you some place fancy, you still have full freedom to just be a kid :)   At least they're handsome ~   Below... quite possibly Sam and Charlie's favorite photograph from our entire trip... (sigh)
