Pioneer Woman

Okay, so maybe not quite THE Pioneer Woman, but I am pretty excited about my little vegetable and herb garden I've got going this year. 
 AND I'm super, silly, excited about the handmade plant markers my three sweethearts surprised me with when I came home from work today!
As they have beautifully noted, I have herbs (which comprises of two types of basil), strawberries, and cucumbers. Everything is growing inside the raised vegetable garden Mr. Agrestic made me for Mother's Day.

The morning dew forms around the edges of the leaves on the strawberry vines … so cool!


Throw in a few cattle, a couple cookbooks, a few more kids, and some homeschooling and you'd never be able to tell us apart!
(seriously though, I've figured out how to grow this stuff… now I just need some pointers on how to cook with it!)

    You and Pioneer Woman are some of my favorite inspirations on this planet! And, the talent and creativity of the Agrestic men never ceases to amaze me.

    Have you ever had strawberries and basil together over vanilla ice cream? It is amazing and I will gladly share the details if you desire. Bon appetit!

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
