Wikki Stix!

When you have kids and go out to eat as often as the Agrestics, you tend to take notice of the type of entertainment each establishment provides the little monkeys. We frequently see crayons and activity paper. Some have little brain teaser puzzles. Others have mini games, etch a sketches, etc.
A new trend we saw in New York, which served its purpose fabulously (and "purpose" implies that it keeps the little guys content and quiet) was a pack of Wikki Stix.

Wikki Stix are actually made of hand knitting yarn, but contain a special wax which makes them slightly sticky and very bendable.

    What a fun thing to pass the time while awaiting the arrival of your grub :) My peanuts used to love the ball of pizza dough at Carrabbas or an intense game of hang-man!

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
