Big Bird's Adventure

Sam thought it would be a great idea for Big Bird to join mommy at work! 

So I promised him I would send him some pictures of Big Bird's great adventures at PerfectServe!

Here is a copy of the text message Sam and Charlie received (via their Daddy's phone)

"Hi Sam and Charlie! I've had a fun day with mommy at work!"
"It started off with me riding in her car…"
"Then I got to push the number 3 on her super cool elevator!"
"And had the MOST fun riding way up high in the elevator… weee!"
"Mommy sat down at her desk and enjoyed her morning coffee from 10-second Dunkin Donuts!"  (sidebar: this is an Agrestic Family thing - boys get a "10-second dunk" when their hair needs to be tamed in morning. 10-second Dunkin Donuts is a sad attempt at making it FUN with the promise of getting a treat from Dunkin Donuts afterward)
"It smelled deeee-licious!"
"I've spent most of the day sitting at the computer while mommy just works"
"And THEN she let me see the big table where she has all her important meetings!"
"It was super cool! We're coming home soon! Can't wait to see you guys!"

    Oh-em-gee! While the boss is away ~ how the product developers do play :) This is absolutely precious! Wish I could have been there to join in the fun! Big Bird could have paid a visit to the recording booth, too.

    p.s. totally off topic - does Mrs. Sweetheart have any suggestions for late summer/fall blooming colorful flowers? My summer-fatigued annuals needs some replacing :/

    Oh em gee on my side too! Tomorrow's post is all about how unhappy I am with the sweethearts as of late. How did you KNOW that? I'm feeling your pain sister! Things are looking rough on my side of the street too :( I haven't come up with any replacement solutions... Except to stay indoors and cover my eyes when I walk outside.

    Btw, no need to tell Mr. Boss-man about Big Bird's visit :/

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. I have pictures!! You must see! We've celebrated Charlie turning 5 (Oh my Lord! His world has changed!) We had our family Christmas time. We've had SNOW! We went skiing. Life keeps happening. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool. I think I accidentally incriminated myself here … with a shot of Sam sipping on my chai :/   Is it just me, or does Sam look exactly Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber in this picture below??   Love.
