Then, And Now

We had my dear Aunt Linda and Uncle Larry over for dinner tonight. We had a lovely evening catching up and enjoying some wine and tasty summertime food. It prompted me to pull out this old picture I recently stumbled across of my Aunt Linda holding me when I was a wee young one.


I was five years old in this picture, and apparently quite content sleeping in her arms. I believe this was at a wedding, so I probably just had a long night of partying it up! I'm not really sure though. I don't remember it.

This memory, led me to another picture of myself when I was even a wee'er little one…
Is it just me, or did I look exactly like Buckwheat from The Little Rascals when I was younger? I can't get this image out of my head…
Scary…

Ultimately, this all leads me to another wee one, who happens to resemble both me (as a wee one) and buckwheat…





Check it out again… I'm hoping he looks like me. Every mom deserves to have at least one offspring look like her! (Lord knows I can't claim peanut #1)
 
Regardless, us Little Agrestics can rock out that afro!

    Oh-em-gee! When I saw the second picture of you I immediately thought ~ Charlie! Buh wheat never entered my mind :) Adorable! And, I'm lovin' Aunt Linda's feathered hairstyle! I might suggest that to the J-man when he's back in town next month!

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
