Admiring Mother Nature

Maybe it's the flowers in bloom. Maybe it's the flirtatious birds that have been singing outside my window. Maybe it was my recent family camping trip. Or, maybe it's my growing babies who are finally allowing me a few moments of me time. I'm not exactly sure what it is right now, but something has me yearning to have my life stripped down to the bare essentials to enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the world around me in the raw form God has created.

I've been collecting these images of the Earth's gorgeous creations and want to share some of what I see around me. Take an extra minute today to marvel at something beautiful. It's all around you. I promise.

    Well, pretty lady, if I was a bird, I would move into your backyard and flirt with you, too! You inspired me to get out and enjoy this beautiful day with my camera. My pics aren't as exquisite as yours, but it was still a lot of fun :)

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. I have pictures!! You must see! We've celebrated Charlie turning 5 (Oh my Lord! His world has changed!) We had our family Christmas time. We've had SNOW! We went skiing. Life keeps happening. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool. I think I accidentally incriminated myself here … with a shot of Sam sipping on my chai :/   Is it just me, or does Sam look exactly Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber in this picture below??   Love.
