My First Lady

Image
As I look Beyond the ripples of my reflections To examine my inner self; The ripples begin to fade... As the reflection lays beside me Grasping my hand, The inner warmth shields me And the vision of my reflection appears I see you. My Friend. At this link is the story of our 30 amazing years of friendship. It's 9 minutes long, and just barely touches the surface of the experiences we've shared. Every memory of my entire childhood includes Brandy. She has had a profound impact on my life and the person I am. She will forever be my compass. My True North. Love Yourself

Image
The greatest gift you will ever receive is the gift of loving and believing in yourself. Guard this gift with your life. It is the only thing that will every truly be yours. Believe it or not, I didn't even tell Sam to do this. I was taking pictures of his sweet face and he decided to pull his little hands up to make a heart.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!!

I have to admit baseball is one of the many reasons I love having boys. As much as my heart would adore all the mother-daughter experiences I've always dreamed about, I can't deny that I would choose hanging out at a baseball field over a dance studio a hundred times over. Here are some pictures of Sam and Charlie playing baseball this year. (Okay so here are a LOT of pictures of Sam and Charlie playing baseball this year… I can't HELP myslef!) They both play for the Reds, but on different teams. Sam is in the 4 year old league. Charlie is in the 3 year old league. Charlie had just learned that his bat can draw pictures in the dirt, so he was putting it to good use on his way up to hit. Big hit from Charlie Hatcher! Running to second! A little top heavy here :) Giant helmets just may be my most favorite thing about the 3 year old league Here's Sam getting ready for a big hit! We've been shocked at how intense he is this year. A boy is trust with dirt on it's face.  Beauty with a cut on it's finger.  Wisdom with bubble gum in it's hair.  And the hope of the future with a frog in it's hand.

Lasting Impressions

Image
Such a young one On the verge of opening up So uncertain of what it will become Trying to find its way Knowing few things for sure Looking for an anchor… And then you were there Without ever knowing  Shaping. Molding. Transforming. Creating a vision for what could be Breaking a path that was already set The years resulted in change Destiny created new paths unknown But one thing that has remained the same A new life was created Given strength to bloom and believe Permission to dance without fear Expanded and  enriched forever changed… because  you  were there

My Four Walls

Image
The most significant work we ever do,  in the whole world,  in our whole life,  is done within the four walls of our own home. - Stephen R. Covey I had an extraordinary Mother's Day. Mr. Agrestic and my two Agrestic Juniors saw to it that the whole day was filled with all my favorite things. It began with mini-movie created by all of them in my honor. It is hilarious, sappy, and sweet. Memories I'll cherish forever. Something truly special in the mini-movie that I want to share with you is a photo series of my boys holding this poster in all my favorite places around Knoxville. I love that they spent a whole day doing this and were all able to keep it a secret from me :)  Hope you love it as much as I do! One of our most favorite dining spots! … and dessert! The ball field where my li'l sluggers play ball! Lemon Cookies! Venti Sweetened Black Iced Tea Nama ~ Sushi Date! My Patio My most favorite place to shop! Without a doubt,...
