Days Dreams are Made of

        
Swimming with dolphins has forever been on my list of experiences I want to have...  I was very happy to find that our options in the Keys had much more of a rescue and educate mission as opposed to a carnival entertainment kind of feel...
The place where we went was Dolphin Plus Marine Mammal Responder (DPMMR)...  and it honestly surpassed all my expectations.





Everyone started off getting to ride solo with one of the dolphins.  They would carefully select which dolphin to send to each of us based on their mood, playfulness, size, and overall personality..  They were so dang cool to hang out with.


Two dolphins had come to take me on this ride... but they were a little out of sync... so I was being dragged by one of them with just one arm. You can kind of tell in this picture below that I had moved over to ride just one dolphin, and his buddy was swimming along side us 😊



Here we are playing a little game of splashing water... we started off by splashing them... then they returned the gesture


We were directing them to jump out of the water and wave to us... so cool

Here, we had a boogie board in front of us and the dolphins would come behind and push our feet to guide us across the water







And my favorite... just touching the dolphins.. they are so silky smooth...  really just beautiful 💗💗💗

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
