Life in Franklin

Once upon a time the Hatcher family lived in Knoxville... then one day, life got crazy, a pandemic clouded the earth, work went to shit, a new door opened, and we moved...  and somehow ended up way out in the country... where vineyards thrive and dairy farmers know you by name.
Life is certainly different here... it's quiet and peaceful and really quite beautiful.  It does get lonely sometimes, but I sure have been soaking up these days and nights with my boys.
We spend lots of time enjoying our backyard...  where the misty morning fog and the sounds of water can wash your worries away.

We've enjoyed many many evenings warming up by a fire... listening to music and eating s'mores.

And occasionally, we actually leave our house and enjoy the lovely towns of Franklin and Brentwood.
We've found Smith Park, which has some great hiking trails.

Some trails at Thompson Station...  that are way to difficult for this old mama to run!

Sam has found a love for running - and happened to kick some butt his first year running Cross Country for Page Middle.

Charlie, Sara and I found a beautiful park that we happened to wander away from and found ourselves walking in the streets of downtown Franklin.  What a beautiful day!

We go swimming with our neighbors and ride around the hood with our friends in the back of dad's Armada.
We learn on computers... even in first grade.
We play Uno and Scrabble and Spoons and Exploding Kittens and Connect Four....  cuz pandemics give us good reason to slow down and live a simpler life.
And apparently I have developed a new obsession for indoor plants 😏
And one of my most favorite things of all...  We have an incredible view of the nighttime sky... and the moon....  it makes me feel like a little kid...  every time I see it... I feel like I've just discovered something new.  I just love her.
Sometimes I don't even have to go outside to see it. I can stand in my bedroom and she is just staring back at me.
And I remember just how lucky we all really are to have each other and to have such beauty surrounding us every day 🙏
