Back To School - 2020 Style

So, back to school in a brand new school and a brand new city - in the middle of a pandemic. What does that even look like?  If nothing else, this generation of kids should certainly be resilient.

School time began this year with Luke starting first grade in person at his new school, Creekside Elementary.

He's a pretty stinking' cute little first grader, if you ask me.

Masks required - this is what learning looks like every day - and never a complaint.
You'd think he'd be a little nervous heading off to a new school, but not this kid... Full of confidence, no fear - just walks in like he's been there forever.
As expected, he had a great day!  His teacher is Ms. Caldwell - she used to live in Knoxville and her kids go to UT!  And Luke made a new friend named Casper on day one.  I don't know Casper, but he has an amazing name and I love that he and Luke are buddies.
Day one for Sam and Charlie looked a little different.  Middle schoolers started off doing remote learning for the first two weeks.

As much as I wanted them to be in school in person where they can meet some new friends, I certainly have enjoyed having them home where I get to see them passing by throughout the day.

And this is us heading to in person school at Page Middle School for the first time.
What troopers they are...  They both really just want to be in Knoxville, but they are such good sports about it.  They are doing fantastic in school. Their classes are hard and they are both just knocking it out of the park. They are making new friends. And they still love their mommy - even though I made them move across the state during middle school.  😕
Someday... someday, we're all going to look back and be really really happy we made this move.
