The Day Sara Learned to Swim
Meet Sara.
"I'll hang out up here with you normal people"
"Oh Lord... here we go again with the leash and the water..."
"Help! I'm drowning. I'm drowning. Save me... Mom.. Dad.. Sam.."
"Alright, Charlie.. you hold that. I'll swim this way."
So, it's possible Sara may not have gotten the water lover gene, but she did give it the ole college try... and we haven't given up on her yet! We have high hopes that someday she'll be sprinting off a dock, doing her best long jump, and swimming across a lake to retrieve her favorite tennis ball!
Sara is an English Golden Retriever mixed with a Poodle... 3 generation, or some nonsense like that.
Key words in there are Golden Retriever.
We know Golden Retrievers.
Golden Retrievers LOVE to swim... it's a total instinct.. they have webbed toes, big ole tails, they are made for swimming!
Today is the big day... she is old enough to fight off nasty lake bacteria, and I bet she has been waiting for this day her whole life.
This is the day Sara learned to swim!
"This is water, Sara. You love water. Get in the water. Ready? Go!"
Let's get the kids in the water to show her how it's done.
"Come on Sara! Come swim with us!"
"Alright... maybe just a little bit... let me dip my toe in it."
"Nah.. I'm good. Y'all go ahead. I'll watch from this rock right here."
"See how pretty I look sitting here, mom..."
"Look Sara, we have your ball... remember, you're a golden retriever... you love to retrieve tennis balls... come on Sara!"
Nevermind... just get her leash and drag her out there.

"Um, hello? Do you see what they're doing to me out here?"
"Alright... I did it. I'm done. Going back."
"Sigh... Okay... this is a little better standing up... Just don't let go of me.."
"You let go. I'm out. See you at shoreline kids"
