The Other Breathtaking West Coast

There are many a days when work travels land you in Detroit, Lima, Cleveland, Pittsburg, or Flint...  

 But then there are days like this when you get to go to a fabulous resort on the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean...  and hang with some really fun work peeps...  and take selfies with scary investors wearing cowboy hats.
And you get to bring your favorite humans along and stay in pretty rooms with incredible views...
 And wake up on east coast time and go on incredible walks as the sun rises high in the sky...

And soak it all in... morning after morning...


Breathtaking ~
 I believe this is my fifth time at Terranea... and it really never gets old.  I feel pretty spoiled every time I'm there.
 I was really happy to have the opportunity to bring my family along with me. Work trips are a thousand times better when you can treat your family to a vacation and not feel like you are missing out on life at home.


 The boys hung at the pool during the day while I was at a conference. We joined up at night... and then stayed through the weekend so we could have some time there together. 
 I'm so crazy about these people 💙
  We ate lotsa good food... and were spoiled living a really fancy life for a few days.


 And they just kept looking really handsome.

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. I have pictures!! You must see! We've celebrated Charlie turning 5 (Oh my Lord! His world has changed!) We had our family Christmas time. We've had SNOW! We went skiing. Life keeps happening. I photograph it when I can. And I come here when it's time. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
