Us and our Boys in Saugatuck

We left Leland and headed south down the coast of Lake Michigan to see Brandy. 
It makes my heart swell when I see our boys (little boys and big boys) come together as if they are all a part of each others' every day lives. When you've shared the life Brandy and I have, there is a remarkable connection that somehow pulls in those closest to us. There are no words to describe what I mean - it's just something that exists... something that is destined to be.
We spent an entire day at Brandy's beach 
It was a little muddy and tiny bit cold and a whole lotta breathtaking and beautiful



Oh, the smiles...














We watched as they played...
We drank wine... and relaxed...
An all was right in the world

 We had a lovely breakfast together the morning we left - and the kids continued to be the best of friends in that moment

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
