Little Brothers




"When are Evan and Noah gonna be here?"
"When are Evan and Noah gonna be here?" 
"When are Evan and Noah gonna be here?"
This was the question of the hour beginning at least 30 days prior to Evan and Noah's arrival in Knoxville. I don't believe Charlie and Sam really even remembered meeting Evan and Noah, with it being  2 years since we last saw them… but through numerous photos, Happy Birthday videos, and all kinds of stories, they've all formed a special little bond that is as real to them as living next door for years.
I think Charlie was most excited of all, as he has a special love for playing big brother ~ and that he did exceptionally well!
 Evan (above) and Noah (below) are the gorgeous 2 and 1/2 year old twin sons of My First Lady, Brandy, which instantly makes them the 2 and 1/2 year old loves of my life.
Evan and Noah were so very excited to come to Tennessee and go for a hike in the "Spooky Mountains" with Sam and Charlie! 
 Brandy and I were actually Charlie's age when we met! Amazing to have a love last that long ~
 It's so difficult to describe what an amazing feeling it is to see our boys love, play with, and take care of each other.
 I plan to see many many more moments like this over the years ~

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. I have pictures!! You must see! We've celebrated Charlie turning 5 (Oh my Lord! His world has changed!) We had our family Christmas time. We've had SNOW! We went skiing. Life keeps happening. I photograph it when I can. And I come here when it's time. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
