Our Last First Day of Preschool...

Rewind ...
(zzzwwezzwwesswweeww... that's the "rewind" sound)
I need to take you back almost two whole months to make up for my slackage.

Did you know my li'l peanut is a Fab 5?  A FAB FIVE.

And there is no such thing as a Fab 6. That's kindergarten, my friends.

I was all focused and prepared for Sam to start kindergarten this year (and I handled it surprisingly well!) that I completely overlooked the fact that my littlest monkey was off to his very last first day of preschool.

How did we get here?

It was an unusual first day of preschool because I'm accustomed to taking my annual "brothers" pictures on the first day... but the older scholar was already off learning. So that left just me and my curly-coat at home to savor the morning.
We stood on our heads...
Played jokes on each other...
Threw paper airplanes...
And again...
All the naughty things us "youngest children of our family" do when the grown ups are away!
Then we walked into school... and my heart kind of dropped because it hit me.
This little angel is in the very oldest class in his preschool...
That just doesn't seem right...
He wasn't even two when we first walked through these doors...
Now he walks in ahead of me, finds his own name tag, hangs his backpack up like he owns the joint
Starts off each day practicing writing "C H A R L I E"
While mommy just stands back hiding her misty eyes behind her camera. That moment was a little surreal ~ like it was too soon to be here.
But we're here...
And one thing I know for sure...
Ms. Judy and Ms. Amy get to see a whole new flavor of Hatcher this year :)

  1. First of all, you have two of the most beautiful boys and they are so photogenic (which is fantastic for you). Secondly, I can't even believe how quickly both of these boys are growing. They have formed from beautiful babies to handsome young men in a matter of weeks it seems. I love that you capture ALL of these special moments of theirs! While you have terrific boys, they also have a terrific mother!

  2. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was rubbing your very pregnant tummy in the dairy section of Kroger?

So glad that Charlie FINALLY woke up :)
