Back when Sam turned Five...

1. Balloons and presents made him very happy...

2. Tree Houses looked like this…

3. Sam's Mommy looked like this... on the 3rd level of a Tree House...

4. Sam and Charlie could fit on the same swing, which hung from a giant Tree House… 8 stories up...

5. Sam, Charlie and their Daddy looked very handsome inside a Tree House… on the very top floor

6. Five candles and a Spiderman ring adorned Sam's birthday cupcake…

7. His frosted nose made him laugh…

8. It made Charlie laugh too...

9. Sam and Charlie had great friends named Eric and Rachel...

10. And frosted noses made them laugh too…


11. Sam and Charlie had their first sleep over…

12. And they all loved watching Despicable Me with their balloons dancing overhead…

13. Rachel snuggled up with Charlie…

14. And then she spooned him…

15. And life was lovely, innocent, and effortless…exactly as it was meant to be...

    Where or where is that treehouse? I know a 21 year old fellow who would love to go explore a place like that!!

    p.s. I heart a good sleepover where spooning is involved :D

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. I have pictures!! You must see! We've celebrated Charlie turning 5 (Oh my Lord! His world has changed!) We had our family Christmas time. We've had SNOW! We went skiing. Life keeps happening. I photograph it when I can. And I come here when it's time. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? … And My Most Silly Sweetheart ~ My Baby

Finally, I get to introduce to you my baby ~ Charlie Aaron Hatcher. Chuckles. The most perfect nick-name there ever was ~ It's so profound as a mother to bring a new life into the world, and only a few short weeks after the little miracle arrives, you feel like you already know his personality and who he will be. I am describing Charlie to you today using nearly the same words I would have used when he was 3-months old. Funny, whimsical, stubborn - yet easy going, independent, and extremely loving (when he wants to be!) This child has enriched my life in so many ways. He is a little ball of energy, with a sassy attitude that cracks you up. And it's all topped off with a sugar coated sweetness that can melt your heart.
