Christmas Fever

Oh what fun it is to be a part of the Christmas parties in my buddies' classrooms! Excitement fills the air… the kids are so freaking filled with anticipation for Christmas to come that you can feel it as soon as you enter the room. Soak it up!

 We played hot potato with a book exchange for the kids. Charlie and Michael were the final two kiddos (Michael is one of the other curly coats shown above) and thought it was hil-a-rious passing two books back and forth.
Then the kids got to be wrapped up as a present with lots of bows! So fun!

Then over at Rocky Hill, we had another day of fun. Sam's good buddy, Garrett making his Christmas ornament.

 Charlie got to join in on the action too… he is an honorary kindergartener this year!
But still a little freaked out when Santa enters the room.
 The class got Mrs. Phillips a bunch of balloons filled with money for Christmas. It was quite a show watching her pop each of them with a pin. The kids went wild!
That wraps up the school parties for this holiday season! On to the next flurry of events!

    Wow! That's a lot of partying :/ The money filled balloons is such a creative idea. I might have to borrow that one for an upcoming high school graduate that I know :)

Wow! It's been a while.  Coming to this seat to reflect and write is always in the back of my mind, but sometimes it's just more complicated than others to actually get here. I have several significant events to share with you. Peak 8 and Carter Park

We geared up the next morning to enjoy a few more of the fun adventures Breckenridge has to offer.   We started with a gondola ride up to Peak 8 This gave us an opportunity to check out the ski slopes and helped convince me to take Sam and Charlie skiing...  Yikes!! (more to come on that)   Our kids are going to jump in a snow pile anywhere they can and start playing...   You know it's a good day when you're sitting beneath some blue skies 8,000 feet above sea level, having a drink and some lunch outside near a small fire, and watching people enjoy the gorgeous slopes of Colorado. Robbie's Tavern at Peak 8 ~ highly recommend! Onward to Carter Park to indulge in some sledding!   Can you even stand this smile? Charlie learns to swim!!!

It seems that there is a magical moment in every child's life where the concept of swimming just clicks. I remember Sam had his moment in the Renaissance Hotel overlooking Manhattan just before his 4th birthday. We had been driving for 11 hours straight, and he was so excited to get some energy out - he just started swimming all over the salt water pool.  Well, Charlie had his moment this past week in Orlando. While he was first a little angry that his mommy and daddy forgot his swim vest, he later become the happiest little boy in Florida!   Racing his big brother Great Job Charlie Hatcher!! So proud of my newest little fishy! Here are a few others of our day at the pool.
