Toad Lily

Image
Been a'waitin' all summer to see what she would look like.  What a spunky little thang!  She is about 15 inches tall right now, and has at least 20 buds creeping up her stem.  For photography's sake, I hope they all pop out on the very same day. To be continued...

Time for Some Nature

Image
I recently decided to go to my favorite photography place in Knoxville to take some nature pictures at sunrise. My "favorite photography place in Knoxville" happens to be at my aunt and uncle's humble abode on Rudder Lane. "Sunrise" for me apparently means around 10:30 am… And since my kiddos joined me on my adventure, my "nature pictures" resulted in 183 pictures of Sam and Charlie , and about 10 pictures of the scenery around me. Lily pads floating upon the pond… no froggies today though What remained of the morning dew Some lovely fall grasses And berries providing great contrast Mandavilla climbing all around the garage doors And some more of the lovely ornamental grass  growing around the pond Oh, wait… Ooopsy.. The Agrestic Family went to their first University of Tennessee Football game today ~ as a family of four ~ The Little Agrestics were quite excited about seeing the inside of the coveted Neyland Stadium for the first time! We had fantastic weather, great seats, a blow out game, and really good kids showering the entire day! I trust that we will meet like this again :) (photos courtesy of my iPhone)

Bamboo

Image
My sister and her family recently moved into a new house.  When we went over there to visit for the first time, I was shocked at what I saw... Rows and rows of bamboo! In two different gardens… Gorgeous bamboo… Everywhere!  Just sitting there, patiently waiting for the likes of me to come along and take her picture... Now, since I was unaware of her existence, I wasn't prepared with my Nikon. But the iPhone, with the help of Plastic Bullet, served as a good back up plan. Sam and Charlie both got to use the bamboo to make their very own cane poles. Dear Mr. Bamboo Forest, One day I will be back to build a home inside your lush, geometric canopy. Love, me
