Field of Dreams

I'm not sure there are any seasons I love more than baseball season...! This year certainly did not disappoint.   Luke played for the Cubs and Sam for the Yankees.  They both did a really great job this year.  Luke is learning how to hit and catch. Sam is building confidence and is making some really great plays.   Pretty proud of himself for getting a "homerun"!! Sam played first base most of the year and really did a great job! He also had some great hits - his best one was out to the fence... a triple.    He showed great confidence in the middle of difficult situations... up to bat, last inning, game is tied, two outs, bases loaded... AND a base hit...  game winning run! He got the game ball two different times!   And nothing better than having a supportive brother come cheer you on after his golf scrambles Another great baseball season in the books!

Bye Bye SMEEP

How is it even possible? My baby just graduated from preschool ... he is officially a kindergartener! What a beautiful journey it has been - not only for Luke, but for all of our boys who have spent many days learning at growing at St. Mark's Early Enrichment Program. These sweet teachers have shown our kids an abundance of love and grace, nurturing them and helping them grow into confident little boys. We've had the most spectacular experience at SMEEP ~ so many smiles... friends, teachers, parents... memories to last a lifetime. (Luke's little girlfriend, Ruby.. I seriously can't get enough of her!)   Miss Holly and Miss Susan Miss Melissa, who spent the mornings with Luke for several years...  he became known as the SMEEP mascot as he would join Miss Melissa in all her staff meetings.   And Miss Brittney, who also spent lots of time with Luke when mommy and dadd were both working. Sam and Charlie took the afternoon off to c

Another Q&U Wedding

Image
We are nearing the very end of our time at SMEEP - this is where our boys have spent countless hours of their early childhood with some of the best preschool teachers on the planet. It's truly been a beautiful experience.   One of the sweetest events at SMEEP is the Q & U wedding that happens at the end of the school year for the Fab Fives.   I had to get Luke all dressed up in the same outfit his brothers wore.. Isn't he so handsome?   Luke was pretty perplexed by the way he was told to hold his arm for his little bride (Josie) to hold...  He thought it was pretty silly :)   Boys...   Escorting Miss Hazel back...  again with the cute little arm position :)   That's one happy little boy... with his Q-tips boutonniere.    Hazel.. his little sister from another mister! And sweet Nana was able to join us as well!

Easter Traditions

It's a comforting feeling to observe your children find joy in the traditions that have been created around them.  For us, one of those things is our Easter celebration. Every year, it happens to be at my parent's house. My mom has a table cloth that is plastic and is at least 30 years old (I know, right?) that everyone looks forward to seeing as we color Easter eggs. I didn't know how important this was to my kids until there was a recent Easter Sunday when we didn't do this... and there were tears...  It keeps me aware of how important these events are to our children as they grow up.   I am always curious to know what memories will stand out to them when they are grown - it's hard sometimes to know which moments matter, and which moments just pass them by. Regardless if they know it or not, this is one that matters... And below... at least two out of three kids faking some Easter bunny love...!   Some more Easter egg colors out by mommy&
